Wall Break Mechanics

Wall Gauge and Break

Sustained corner pressure fills the wall gauge. When broken, both players reset midscreen with significant damage applied and tension bonuses. Wall break is Strive's signature comeback and snowball mechanic.

Certain Overdrives and heavy normals break walls faster. Spacing wall splat before break maximizes damage — avoid breaking too early with weak hits.

Offensive Wall Strategy

Carry opponents to corner, maintain pressure, then break for reset advantage or kill. Some characters rely on wall break for primary damage; others prefer midscreen control. Roman Cancels extend wall carry routes.

After break, you often receive Positive Bonus tension — capitalize immediately before opponent recovers neutral.

Defensive Wall Awareness

When wall gauge is high, burst or FD before lethal break combos. Accept midscreen reset if break damage is lower than continued corner mix. Version 2.00 adjusted wall damage values — re-test kill routes.
