Rushdown Identity

Rushdown characters excel at close-range offense, fast approaches, and layered mixups. They sacrifice some defensive safety for overwhelming pressure once they touch you. Strive's wall system rewards rushdown that carries to corner.

Examples include Giovanna (Rekka-style dog extensions), Chipp (teleport mobility), Jam Kuradoberi (kick strings and parries), and Sol (simple high-damage rush).

Core Rushdown Skills

Master dash/IAD approaches, frame trap timing, and safe jump setups. Learn when to reset pressure versus going for wall break. Counter Blitz after CH starters extends rush routes post-2.00.

Defense still matters — rushdown mains die quickly if neutral is lost. Practice FD and burst discipline.

Season 5 Rushdown Notes

Jam enters as premier rushdown with steep execution ceiling. Nerfed Purple RC affects some loop-heavy rush characters — verify pressure strings in current patch.
