Training Mode Guide
Essential Training Mode Setup
Open Offline Mode → Dojo → Training. Bind Record, Playback, and Reset Position in button settings — these three functions define efficient lab sessions. Reset moves you to corner, midscreen, or switches sides instantly.
Set Opponent Status to Guard After First Hit when testing combos. The dummy blocks as soon as a gap appears, revealing false strings. Enable Input History and virtual controller display to debug motion inputs and timing.
Recording Dummy Actions
Record opponent jump-ins, pressure strings, or special moves, then playback on loop. Use multiple recording slots with random playback to simulate mixups. This trains anti-airs, whiff punishes, and Counter Blitz reactions against real patterns.
Forced Counter Hit settings help practice CH combo routes introduced or changed in Season 5. Save recordings per matchup — lab one character at a time rather than scattering practice.
Advanced Lab Drills
Reaction anti-air: random playback of jump attacks. Okizeme: record knockdown → meaty sequence. Defense: record plus-on-block string and drill FD or Counter Blitz timing. Use frame data tool on our wiki to identify punish windows.
Two-player training: pause, set Opponent Status to Controller 2, and let a friend control the dummy for human unpredictability.
